Hands On Tuscaloosa: Earth Day Edition

9:00 am -12:00 pm
Check-in begins at 8:30 am in the Ferg Plaza.
Hands on Tuscaloosa is designed for UA students to initiate long term service relationships with community partners that focus on environmental issues. Opportunities include river cleanup at the Black Warrior River, Hurricane Creek Campground cleanup, and other outdoor projects. Transportation provided.

Brewer Porch Children's Center
When: Mondays from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm
Brewer-Porch Children's Center is a University of Alabama Program established to provide a model treatment program for Alabama’s special needs children, adolescents and their families. Volunteers will help with supervising and coordinating activities for children.

Jesus Way Shelter
When: Tuesdays from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Volunteers will help with tutoring and mentoring at a homeless shelter.

West Alabama Food Bank
When: Wednesdays 1:00 to 3:00
Volunteers will assist with sorting of food donations and pack food boxes.

Temporary Emergency Services
When: Thursdays 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Volunteers will work in the food pantry to collect and sort donations.

Tuscaloosa Volunteer Reception Center- Tornado Debris Removal
When: Wednesdays from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Volunteers will help the community of Tuscaloosa and surrounding areas recover from the tornado by doing debris removal and other projects.

Al's Pals Mentor Applications Available for Fall 2013
Interested in serving as a mentor next semester for Al's Pals? Al's Pals is a one-on-one mentoring program for at-risk youth in the community. UA students have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of an elementary student on a weekly basis. Mentors must commit to 1 day a week of mentoring (Wednesdays or Thursdays) from 2:45-5:00 pm.

Volunteers Needed - Tuscaloosa Area Volunteer Reception Center (TAVRC)
The Tuscaloosa Area Volunteer Reception Center needs volunteers this summer to help with debris removal. This summer you can still help with its recovery by coming out and volunteering with TAVRC. Volunteers are needed Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
