Hands on Tuscaloosa was designed for UA students to initiate long term service relationships with community partners that focus on bringing our communities togehter to better Tuscaloosa. Opportunities include river cleanup at the Black Warrior River, Hurricane Creek Campground cleanup, Habitat for Humanity, working with children in the local community, serving meals at a homeless shelter, and many more projects. Transportation and lunch will be provided.

2014 Sleep Out on the Quad
The 2014 Sleep Out on the Quad will be held on Wednesday, April 10th starting at 8:00 pm on the quad in front of Lloyd Hall.

Weekly Service Opportunities For Spring 2014
Meeting Location: Community Service Center 346 Ferguson: Transportation Provided
West Alabama Food Bank
When: Every Monday from 2pm-4pm
What: Assisting in the food management and distribution process to families in the West Alabama area.
- SPAN Tuscaloosa
When: Every Monday from 11:45am-1:30pm
What: SPAN Tuscaloosa provides academic remediation for at risk student to help them return to correct grade levels within the public school system
When: Every Tuesday from 11:30am-1:30pm
What: Head Start is a comprehensive child development program that serves the needs of over 900 children and their families in Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar and Tuscaloosa counties
Jesus Way Shelter
When: Every Thursday from 3:30pm-5:30pm
What: Jesus Way Shelter is a homeless shelter that provides assistance to the local homeless population.
Boys and Girls Club
When: Every Friday from 2:45pm-4:45pm
What: The Boys and Girls Club provides a safe environment for recreation and companionship through programming for the young people of the community.
Al's Pals Mentor Applications Available for Fall 2014
Interested in serving as a mentor next semester for Al's Pals? Al's Pals is a one-on-one mentoring program for at-risk youth in the community. UA students have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of an elementary student on a weekly basis. Mentors must commit to 1 day a week of mentoring (Wednesdays or Thursdays) from 2:45-5:00 pm.
