Each year the Community Service Center kicks off the new school year with a service project aimed at engaging first year students with the community and each other.
Ripple Effect: Freshman Volunteer Day is a chance for new students to get to know their community, their fellow classmates, and the CSC through a day of intense service. Service can range from cleaning up at Hurricane Creek to visiting with veterans at a local veteran's hospital to walking dogs at the Humane Society. Students have various service projects to choose from so they can be introduced to nonprofit agencies in the area. After the initial Week of Welcome Ripple Effect other one day service events area offered to students including working with Habitat for Humanity.
