SAL Awards

Each year, the Center for Sustainable Service & Volunteerism gives special recognition and awards to those students, groups, and organizations that have shown devotion and dedication to providing service throughout the community. Awards nominators and nominees are invited to attend.

Volunteer of the Year - This accolade goes to the student that best demonstrates the mission to educate students for civic engagement and leadership as well as giving students diverse service engagement opportunities. This student is committed to engagement programs that promote education and awareness of community needs and resources leads to opportunities for social problem solving. They go above and beyond in helping to forward the mission and value of community service at the University of Alabama. They are doing their part in creating a better tomorrow.

Outstanding Service Project of the Year - This accolade goes to the teams responsible for planning a project in collaboration with each other as well as with the CSSV that best demonstrates the mission to educate students for civic engagement and leadership as well as giving students diverse service engagement opportunities. These type of engagement programs promote education and awareness of community needs and resources leads to opportunities for social problem solving.

Outstanding New Community Partner- This accolade goes to the community partners that collaborate with the CSC that best demonstrates the mission to educate students for civic engagement and leadership as well as giving students diverse service engagement opportunities. These partners are committed to providing engagement programs that promote education and awareness of community needs and resources leads to opportunities for social problem solving.
