Founded in the spring of 1993, the Alpha chapter of The Carl A. Elliott Society is named after Congressman Carl A. Elliott, former president of the University of Alabama Student Government Association, long-time congressman, and the first recipient of the Kennedy Profile in Courage Award. Congressman Elliott based his political principles on assistance to the needy, racial tolerance, and better educational opportunities to all. |
