Length of Service: 2 to 3 hours per week per semester
A unique educational institution designed to stimulate the curiosity of children, ages 2 – 12, about themselves and their place in the world. Provides high quality interaction educational exhibits and programs designed to enhance children’s understanding of community, including the physical environment, arts, history, and modern settings. Involves parents, teachers and others in participatory education. Volunteers will serve as docents, assisting visitors in the exhibits and school children in a variety of special programs. Docents work under the supervision of the staff to provide a rich variety of interactive experiences. Volunteers can also serve as greeters, work at the admission desk, sell items from the gift shop, and answer visitor questions. Volunteers should be outgoing and like working with children.
