Community Service

The engagement of students in activities where some service or good work is performed and where students learn how their service makes a difference in the lives of the service recipients. An example is habitat for humanity. There is little, if any, reciprocity between those doing service and those being served. There is little to no reflection in the process. The service is the focus with motivation based on civic duty, religious conviction, or concern for the welfare of others.
